Public Computers

  • Public computers on the upper level provide Internet access and Microsoft Office 2021. Users must log into a computer with a library card or guest pass. Time limits may apply. The library’s Internet Access Policy can be found HERE.
  • Users of the library’s public computers may save files to their own USB drives.
  • Printing is available from public computers on the upper level for 15 cents per page for black and 25 cents per page for color. Mobile printing is also available. A print release station on the upper level offers cash and card payment options.

WiFi 

  • Wireless Internet access, courtesy of the Town IT Department, is available throughout the library. The wireless network name or SSID (Service Set Identifier) is “Acton Memorial Library”. Access is free. No registration or password is required. Users agree to abide by the library’s Computer & Internet Use Policy.  Printing from the wireless network is available through the library’s mobile printing service.
  • Wireless Mobile Hotspots are available to borrow. These small devices allow you to take the Internet with you wherever you go. Adults with a library card can check the hotspots out for 2 weeks. Other Equipment

  • Sheetfed and flatbed scanners are availabe on the upper level. Documents scanned on both devices can be sent to the upper level printer as photocopies, sent to a user’s email address, saved to a user’s personal USB drive, or saved to a user’s cloud drive (Google Drive, One Drive, or Dropbox). Photocopies are 15 cents per page for black and 25 cents per page for color. There is no charge for the other scanning options.
  • A cash-only photocopier is available on the lower level. Photocopies are 15 cents per page for black and 25 cents per page for color.
  • Chromebooks are available at the Reference Desk for use in the library. Users agree to abide by the library’s Chromebook Lending policy.
  • The following small items are available at the Reference Desk for use in the library:
    • Power Pax mobile chargers for mobile phones and tablets
    • Scientific calculator
    • USB “floppy” drive for 3.5 inch disks
    • USB camera card (SD card) reader
  • A microfilm (reel/fiche) reader/printer/scanner is located on the upper level. Users may save images to a USB drive.
  • The library does NOT have a public fax machine.
