Additional Information

According to documents in his pension file, John H. Pollard was born March 23, 1841 at Dorchester, New Hampshire. His post office at enlistment was recorded as West Acton, Mass. After leaving the service he resided in New Hampshire (1863-4); Iowa (1864-1890); Illinois (1890-1903); and Los Angeles, Calif. (1903-1920). He married Mary Annette Shackford Oct. 1, 1873 in Iowa. Their son Earl R. Pollard was born Dec. 11, 1876. His wife Mary died Jan. 3, 1914. John Henry Pollard died June 6, 1920.
