Recorded as member no. 132 in the membership roster of Isaac Davis Post No. 138 G.A.R., Acton, Massachusetts (Acton Memorial Library archives, 92.2.1).

John Meehan joined the Isaac Davis G.A.R. in 1904, and was dropped from the roster in 1909. Roster states he was a 64 year old resident of Maynard, born in Ireland and employed as a spinner.
