A MINUTE MAN DIES

   On Saturday, Dec. 9. James W. Fiske, passed away in his eighty eighth year. He was born in Dec. 1, 1835 in the town of Shrewsbury. When he was twenty-one years of age he came to Acton and has made his home there ever since. He was a veteran of the Civil War in which he volunteered and served four years from 1860 to 1965.
    The funeral took place at his home on Tuesday, Dec. 12, at 2 o’clock. Mrs. Benjamin Derby sang two selections and Rev. John Snyder, formerly of Acton was the officiating clergyman. He is survived by three sons and one daughter. Two of the sons, Wilbur Fiske and Frank Fiske are residents of Acton.
