Comrade Charles A. Brooks
Who was born the day of A.D. 1840
in
Concord County of Middlesex State of Massachusetts

I first entered the service as private in Company E. Old Sixth Regiment Massachusetts Infantry on April 15th, 1861

 

I was discharged on Aug. 3rd, 1861 on account of the expiration of my three months service, but was re-enlisted the next month Sept. 1861, in Company E. 26th Regiment Massachusetts Infantry.


I was finally discharged per Circular order No. 30 W. Dept. on August 26th, 1865 after a term of service of four years, three months and eight days
