Comrade Dennis Sheehan
Who was born the first day of November
A.D. 1818
in
County of   State of Ireland

At Acton, Mass., on Sept. 10th, 1861 I first entered the service as private in company E. 26th Mass regiment and my rank remained the same during the war and at the close.

 

I was first discharged at Franklin, La in August 1864 but re-enlisted and was finally discharged at Savannah, Ga on Sept. 23rd, 1865 as the war had come to a close

 

My first engagement was at Lafourche, La. I was never wounded or taken prisoner but was confined in Mount Pleasant Hospital.

 

Among my intimate comrades were Delette Hall, George Flood and Charles Parker.
