Comrade Joseph C. Shattuck
Who was born the first day of November
A.D. 1847
in
Townsend County of  Middlesex State of Massachusetts

 

I first entered the service as private in Co. C 15th Mass Vol Infantry on March 14, 1864 and was afterwards transferred to Co. K 20th Mass. Vol

 

After a service of fifteen months he was finally discharged June 7, 1865 as the war had come to an end.
