Want More Quiet?
by Children's Librarian 1 | November 8, 2018 at 01:11 PM
There are several areas in the library that are designated "Quiet Areas". These include the study area to the right of the Reference Desk, the PC Room adjacent to the study area, and the Fireplace Room in the original building. The study carrels along the wall behind the non-fiction stacks are also a good choice for those looking for quiet. The library also has two small study rooms that can be reserved for quiet study. Even with designated Quiet Areas, there are times when a lot of people in the building combined with a lot of activity and the open design of the building create a less than quiet atmosphere. People looking for more quiet are encouraged to speak to a staff member who will try to direct the person to a quieter area. We also now have disposable foam earplugs available at the reference desk for those times when the ambient noise needs to be taken down a notch.
