Reserving / Requesting Materials

Items in the Acton Memorial Library's collections may be reserved by telephone or online via the Minuteman Library Network catalog.  Most items belonging to other Minuteman Library Network libraries may also be requested. When requesting an item you can designate any Minuteman Library as your pick-up location.

By Telephone

For adult and young adult items call 978-929-6655, option 3 (Reference Desk)

For children's and teen (junior high) items call 978-929-6555, option 4 (Children's Department)

For DVDs call 978-929-6655, option 2 (Circulation Department)

Online

When you reserve/request an item online, you will be notified when it is ready for pick-up. This will generally take at least 24 hours for items that are available in Acton, and several days for items shipped from other libraries.  If you would like to pick up an Acton item right away, please call us at one of the numbers above.

To reserve an item online, find the item in the Minuteman Library Network Catalog and click "Request." You will be prompted for your Minuteman Library Network card and a PIN. If you do not have a PIN, you will be prompted to set one up. If you have forgotten your PIN or would like help setting one up, please call the reference desk at 978-929-6543.

Non-Requestable Items

Some items are designated by the owning libraries as "non-requestable", and cannot be reserved through the online Catalog.  Please contact the owning library directly about the availability of these items.
