Due to publisher retrictions, certain publishers’ (Penguin) titles are not available for over-the-air delivery. If over-the-air delivery is not available, you will need to download the title to a computer, then transfer it to your Kindle via a USB cable. These titles are clearly marked "Kindle devices via USB only."
Returning a Kindle Book Early
You can return a Kindle book early through your Amazon account:
- From an Internet browser go to Amazon.com and sign-in
- Click on "Manage Your Kindle" (under "Your Account")
- Select the "Actions" dropdown menu to the right of the title
- Select "Return the Book"
Kindle Fire (for ePub and MP3 audiobooks via the Overdrive App )
OverDrive Media Console for Android is now available to Kindle Fire users in the Amazon App Store for Android! This is the recommended method, as you will have access to more ebook titles as well as MP3 audiobooks.

Borrow an Ebook Reader
The Acton Memorial Library Foundation has purchased a Kobo Vox tablet for patrons to check-out and try. The Kobo Vox is an Android-based tablet with a color touch-screen.The library's "Overdrive" ebook software is pre-installed. Patrons may search the Minuteman Digital Catalog and checkout and download both ebooks and audiobooks directly from the device.
To place a hold on the Kobo Vox tablet, click HERE and then on "Request," or call the Reference Desk at 978-929-6543.
The loan period is two weeks. Holds are limited to Acton residents.
