Meditation with Lina Shastri

Certified Yoga instructor and trained meditation leader Lina Shastri leads three sessions from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesdays June 21, June 28, and July 5. As an introduction to mindful breathing and meditation, each session includes: looking at the tendencies of the mind and how it affects well being; the powerful body/breath/mind connection; practice breathing techniques to quiet the mind; a guided meditation; and a Question and Answer time or talk about how a daily meditation practice can enable one to find lasting happiness and joy by connecting to one's inner self.
No registration or prior experience with meditation is needed. Participants must be ages 14 and up and may attend as many sessions as they wish.
The breathing and meditation techniques are as taught by the The Art of Living Foundation. The Foundation is a not-for-profit humanitarian and educational organization, whose vision is a peaceful, stress-free world.
Lina has been a practitioner of yoga and meditation for several years, and it completely transformed her from being depressed and fatigued to living joyfully and energetically. Yoga and Ayurveda (a sister science of yoga that focuses on holistic health and wellbeing) are her passions.
