Edwin Thomas, age 2, is recorded as an inhabitant of Vienna, Maine, in the 1850 federal census, in household (dwelling no. 65/70) of Henry and Malvina Thomas. Also in the household were Calvin Thomas and James Thomas ("1850 United States Federal Census," Ancestry.com).

Edwin G. Thomas, age 12, is recorded as an inhabitant of Roxbury Ward 3, Norfolk, Massachusetts, in the 1860 federal census, in household (dwelling no. 2769/4067) of Henry and Malvina Thomas. Also in the household were Calvin Thomas and James Thomas ("1860 United States Federal Census," Ancestry.com).
