Calvin Thomas, age 20, a laborer, is recorded as an inhabitant of Roxbury Ward 3, Norfolk, Massachusetts, in the 1860 federal census, in household (dwelling no. 2769/4067) of Henry and Malvina Thomas. Calvin Porter Thomas, a "Soldier", age 25, born in Maine, is recorded in the 1865 Massachusetts State Census as a resident of Acton, at residence with Henry Currier Thomas, age 55, and family, including James Sulivan Thomas,and Edwin Guilford Thomas (Lainhart, 1855 and 1865 Massachusetts State Censuses for Acton: 73).
