Abel Farrar was born Dec. 10, 1839 in Acton, Mass. to Abel Farrar and Mary Harris (death record, "Massachusetts Vital Records, 1911-1915," v. 1911/1 death, p. 125 [image], AmericanAncestors.org). He was the older brother of Daniel H. Farrar.
Abel Farrar, a 16 year old farmer, is recorded in the 1855 Massachusetts State Census for Acton, in household (dwelling no. 258) of Obed Augustas Simonds. Also in household was 9 year old Emory Augustus Simonds (Lainhart, 1855 and 1865 Massachusetts State Censuses for Acton: 32).
Abel Farrar, Jr., a 27 year old farmer, is recorded in the 1865 Massachusetts State Census for Acton, in household (dwelling no. 60) of Daniel Wetherbee (Lainhart, 1855 and 1865 Massachusetts State Censuses for Acton: 49).
