Additional Information

Enlistment form in his pension file records his birthplace as Scotland. In a letter included in the pension file he states "Natchez and surrounding County has been my home for upwards of twenty years." 

The enlistment record that is included in the Births section of Vital Records of Acton Massachusetts to the Year 1850 (p. 75), reads: KIRK, David of New Orleans, enl. Dec. 20, 1862, a. 44.
