Additional Information

John Griffin was born in Ireland c. 1838 to Jeremiah Greehy (alias Griffin) and Mary Denlay (source: baptism record in pension file). He first married Mary Flanagan, who died January 31, 1866 in Tewksbury, Mass., at the state almshouse, at age 38, of "hip disease." In June, 1866 John Griffin married Mary McCormick in Nashua, N.H. (source: pension file).
