Emory A. Symonds was born in Acton to Obed A. (born Ashby) and Mary (Wright) (born Acton). An umarried fireman with the railroad, he died in a railroad accident at age 22 (source: Acton death record, Massachusetts Vital Records, 1841–1910. In: NewEnglandAncestors.org [online database]).
