Additional Information
Born 1841 in South Berwick, Maine, Alonzo Joy enlisted at Lawrence as a private in the 6th Massachusetts Infantry. He was wounded in the Baltimore riot of April 19, 1861, when two fingers on his left hand were shot off. He then enlisted in October 1861 as a sergeant in the 30th Massachusetts Infantry and served until July 1866.
After the war he lived in Lawrence and Haverhill until settling in Concord Junction (West Concord) in 1889. By 1910, he was living in Acton. He died August 19, 1926.
