Civil War Records of Charles H. Young
DEATH OF A VETERAN
Pittsfield has lost another of its veterans of the Civil war in the death of Charles H. Young which occurred at his home on West street yesterday. He was born in New Hampshire 67 years ago and has spent much of his life in this city. He was a carpenter by trade. He was a member of Company B, 1st New York infantry and was identified here with Rockwell G.A.R. post. The funeral will be held from the First Baptist church tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o’clock, Rev. Herbert S. Johnson officiating. All members of Rockwell post are requested to meet at the house at 2 o’clock sharp to attend the funeral.
