Proprietor of Hotel at Houghs Neck and Well Known to Yachtsmen

QUINCY, Sept 3- J. Stanley Mears, proprietor of the Mears house, Houghs Neck, died this afternoon, aged 59. He received an apoplectic shock over a week ago, and he never rallied from its effect.
      Mr. Mears is well known to frequenters of the beach. He has run the hotel and pavilion near the Quincy yacht club house since his father, the late James S. Mears, retired from business, and every yachtsmen along the coast knows Stanley, as he is more familiarly called.
      Mr. Mears enlisted from his native town of Stoughton, and served in Co B, 4th infantry, and the 2nd infantry. He is a member of Reynolds post 58, G.A.R., of East Weymouth, where he lived for several years.
     He leaves a wife.
     The funeral will take place from the residence of Mrs. George N. Nash, 13 Saville av, at 2 p.m. Sunday.
