        W.H. [sic] HANDLEY

Wm. H. Handley, who has been a great sufierer [sic] for the past five weeks from a complication of diseases, died at his home on Tuesday last. During the past few few days his condition seemed to be improved, which gave hopes for his recovery but an unexpected change took place on Tuesday morning which terminated in death in a few hours.
The deceased was a native of Acton where he has lived most of the time and by his cheerful disposition has won a host of friends. He was an upright and highly respected citizen and a true patriot, being among the first to respond to the call for troops to quell the rebellion and the last to return at the close of the war.
A wife and one daughter are left to mourn the loss of a kind husband and father. He was a member of Isaac Davis post, G.A.R., which will take charge at the funeral which will occur on Friday at 1.30 p.m. at the Congregational church. Age 54 years.
