At Lowell, Mass., on Aug.25th, 1862, I first entered the service, as private, in Company E. 6th Regiment, M. V. M. and my rank continued the same during service.

 

On account of physical disability, I was finally discharged on March 16th, 1863 at Suffolk, Va

 

I was confined in a hospital at Suffolk, Va. from July 1st to Mar.16th, 1863.

Marshall Hapgood and Lewis Marsters were my most intimate comrades while in service.
