A.D. 1844
in
Acton County of  Middlesex State of Massachusetts

On the twenty-fifth day of August 1862, I first entered the service, as private, in Company E. 6th Regiment at Lowell, Mass. I enlisted in this company for a term of service of nine months and at the close of the war my rank was still that of a private.

As my time of enlistment had expired, I was first discharged on the third day of June, 1863.

I was again re-enlisted on July 11th, 1864 and was finally discharged on October 27, 1864, after my term of service had expired.

I was wounded in the engagement at the "Deserted House" Suffolk, Va., and was confined in a hospital at Suffolk.

George V. Pierce, Frank E. Harris & George Jones were among my most intimate comrades.

I Certify that the Sketch of my War service as above written is true as
