Library Cards

Library cards are available to anyone 4 years and older who lives in Massachusetts or works in Acton. Valid name and address identification are required. A parent our legal guardian must co-sign applications for children under 14 years of age.

Check Out --Please Bring Your Card!

Please bring your Minuteman library card to check out library materials. If you have lost or misplaced your Minuteman card a free replacement will be provided to you. (There is a limit of one free replacement card per year.) 
Most items circulate for three weeks and may be renewed twice. New adult books circulate for 2 weeks and may be renewed once. DVDs, CD-ROMs and electronic games circulate for one week and may be renewed once.

Renewals

Too busy to come to the library to renew your books? Renew online with your library card and PIN by visiting My Account.  Call us at 978-929-6655, option 2, to renew your books over the phone.

Overdue Fines

Overdue fines may be paid in person with cash or check, or online with a credit card through My Account.

For museum passes the overdue fine is $10.00 per day with no grace period.

For interlibrary loans the fine is $2.00 a day with no grace period.

For DVDs, CD-ROMs and electronic games the overdue fine is $1.00 per day with no grace period and a maximum fine of $10 per item.

On adult books the overdue fine is 15¢ per day with a 3 day grace period and a maximum fine of $15.

On paperbacks and magazines the overdue fine is 15¢ per day with a 3 day grace period and a maximum fine of $7.50.

On all other items the fine is 10¢ per day with a 3 day grace period and maximum overdue fine of $10 per item.
