Starting December 17, 2018 there is a change in how due dates are calculated when library users renew materials at Minuteman libraries. Beginning immediately, renewals will be calculated from the original due date, rather than from the date of renewal. Users can renew at anytime before materials are due, and will receive the additional loan period tacked on to the end of the original due date. For most users this will result in longer loan periods. If materials are renewed when they are overdue, the renewal date will still be from the original due date and late fines will still apply. This change does not impact other loan rules, and only affects items that are already eligible for renewal.
A convenient way to receive due date reminders and renewal options, is to sign up for text notices to be delivered to your smart phone. Text the word "SIGNUP" to 508-507-2560 to get started. For more information about Text Message Notices including text commands, visit Minuteman's Help Center FAQs. Users may also renew items via the web from "My Account", through the Minuteman Mobile App, or by calling the Circulation Desk at 978-929-6655, option 2.
