As you probably already know, Consumer Reports magazine features trusted and unbiased ratings and recommendations for thousands of products and services in categories including appliances, cars, electronics, computers, home & garden, food, health, personal finance, travel, and more. You probably also know that the library has a subscription to the print magazine and that you can check out back issues for 3 weeks. But did you also know that though the library, you can access this fantastic resource online for free?

ConsumerReports.org is available to Acton residents from home and available to anyone from a library computer. From home you will need your library card number to log in. Visit the library's databases page here and you will find ConsumerReports.org under the "Consumer Information" subject category.

Once you're logged on, you can browse various categories on the left hand side of the screen or do a search at the top of the page. Searches will typically yield a product comparison along with a buyer's guide and news articles related to it.

If you need any help using ConsumerReports, visit the Reference Desk or call 978-929-6543.
